Interventional and Structural Cardiologist · Stanford University
Specialist in minimally invasive transcatheter cardiac procedures for the treatment of complex heart conditions.
Individualized, compassionate, evidence-based care for every patient.
Dr. Tom Meredith is an Interventional and Structural Cardiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University, with sub-specialty expertise in the minimally invasive treatment of complex cardiac conditions.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, he moved to Sydney to undertake his medical and cardiology specialty training. After completing cardiology specialty training (FRACP), he undertook three years of sub-specialty interventional and structural training in Australia and the USA. His PhD, completed through the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and supported by competitive funding from the CSANZ and NHF, was nominated for the Dean’s Thesis Award. His research interests include cardiac remodelling in patients with valvular disease and the use of machine-learning approaches to predict post-procedural outcomes. He has developed a novel patented algorithm to predict aortic stenosis severity from single-view echocardiography.
Outside medicine, he is a dedicated dad and an avid long-course triathlete, having recently competed in back-to-back Ironman 70.3 World Championships.
